The Importance of Coefficient of Friction (COF)
■  The key factor in preventing slipping and falling is maintaining the optimal "friction coefficient".
■ "Friction coefficient" refers to the ratio between the friction force between two solid surfaces and the normal pressure. The rougher the sliding surface, the greater the friction coefficient.
■  The higher the friction between the sole and the floor, the lower the risk of slipping or falling.

This test was conducted in April 2016 by Precision Testing Laboratories in accordance with ASTM Standard F1677-08 [Withdrawn 2006] using a Burngraber Mark II anti-slip tester on smooth tiles coated with Crisco brand cream . A friction coefficient of 0 means no friction, and 1.0 means very high friction.The SFC test result is 0.63.
